Why Use Copper?

 According to Encyclopedia Britannica:

Copper (Cu)chemical element, a reddish, extremely ductile metal of Group 11 (Ib) of the periodic table that is an unusually good conductor of electricity and heat. Copper is found in the free metallic state in nature. This native copper was first used (c. 8000 BCE) as a substitute for stone by Neolithic (New Stone Age) humans. Metallurgy dawned in Mesopotamia as copper was cast to shape in molds (c. 4000 BCE), was reduced to metal from ores with fire and charcoal, and was intentionally alloyed with tin as bronze (c. 3500 BCE). The Roman supply of copper came almost entirely from Cyprus. It was known as aes Cyprium, “metal of Cyprus,” shortened to cyprium and later corrupted to cuprum.

While copper is very well known for its industrial and metallurgical uses, it is often overlooked in its capacity as health regulator.

In medical circles and in the commercial niche, copper is well known in its role in maintaining a healthy circulatory system. Many studies show how powerful it is in its ability to act as an antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory element. Not only that, but many studies show an extraordinary amount of evidence for multiple benefits from copper.

AVIR™ may be useful for treating or preventing a wide variety of viral or bacterial diseases. It contains copper particles in the casing of lipids (fats), and other substances that help with absorption and cellular penetration. These particles are insoluble, and their size is tiny -- 30-40 nanometers (for comparison, diameter of Coronavirus particles are approximately 125 nanometers).

Copper is known to have a significant amount of benefits for the body. There have been thousands of studies on the subject and all point to one thing...Copper is awesome. Especially bio-active nano copper, the compound used in AVIR.

What's our proof?

Check out this WebMD article titled "Copper and Your Health."

According to the article:

Copper plays a part in many of your body's organs and systems. It helps you:

  • Make red blood cells
  • Keep nerve cells healthy
  • Support your immune system
  • Form collagen, a protein that helps make up your bones and tissues
  • Protect cells from damage
  • Absorb iron into your body
  • Turn sugar into energy

Because copper has a role in these important tasks, it can help keep certain conditions at bay, such as:

  • Anemia (low red blood cell count)
  • Osteoporosis (bone loss, most often found in women)

That is just for starters. Nonetheless, copper is clearly one of the elements your body needs to stay alive and healthy. It helps create red blood cells, keep your nerve cells healthy among dozens of the functions.

It cannot be understated, you need copper.

Not that much, but the body needs it to stay healthy.

From the same WebMD article, here is how much you should have in your body:

  • Birth to age 3: 200 micrograms (mcg) -- 340 mcg
  • Ages 4-8: 440 mcg
  • Ages 9-13: 700 mcg
  • Ages 14-18: 890 mcg
  • Ages 19 and older: 900 mcg

Where do I get naturally occurring Copper? (according to WebMD)

  • Seafood (oysters, lobster, squid, mussels, clams)
  • Organ meats (cow liver, kidneys, or heart)
  • Nuts (cashews, filberts, almonds, pistachios, pecans, macadamia nuts, peanuts)
  • Beans (lentils, soybeans, navy beans)
  • Unsweet or semisweet chocolate or cocoa
  • Enriched cereal
  • Fruits and veggies
  • Blackstrap molasses
  • Black pepper

Benefits of Copper

As aforementioned, copper is one of the essential elements needed to perform bodily functions. But are there additional benefits of using copper outside of just ingesting it?

Of course!

The benefits include:

Claimed benefits of colloidal copper include (Medical News Today):

  • treats wounds, infections, and burns
  • supports cardiovascular health
  • prevents osteoporosis
  • helps the nervous system function
  • acts as an antioxidant that supports human immunity
  • stimulates collagen and elastin
  • reduces wrinkles, discoloration, and age-related skin conditions

Copper Deficiency

To put it nicely, when you do not have enough copper, you may develop serious health issues.

In fact, here is a list from the University of Rochester Medical Center on the list of issues for not having enough copper:

Signs and symptoms of copper deficiency can include:

  • Anemia

  • A low level of a type of white blood cells called neutrophils (neutropenia)

  • Osteoporosis

  • Paleness

  • Hair with less pigment than normal

Now that we have established the importance of having enough copper and the danger of being copper deficient, let's tie it all into AVIR!

Can Copper be used to protect from COVID-19?

One of the best ways to answer this question is to, obviously, check the facts!

First, an article from Smithsonian Mag titled "Copper’s Virus-Killing Powers Were Known Even to the Ancients." This article is analyzing the power of copper as it relates to the destruction of viruses.

The article is trying to analyze the benefits of copper, as it is well known that viruses die virtually on impact of copper surfaces.

The author writes:

"Keevil, a microbiology researcher at the University of Southampton in England, has studied the antimicrobial effects of copper for more than two decades. He has watched in his laboratory as the simple metal slew one bad bug after another. He began with the bacteria that causes Legionnaire's Disease and then turned to drug-resistant killer infections like Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). He tested viruses that caused worldwide health scares such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and the Swine Flu (H1N1) pandemic of 2009. In each case, copper contact killed the pathogen within minutes. "It just blew it apart," he says."

The article continues to analyze researcher Bill Keevil's dealings with Covid-19 analysis as it relates to copper.

Well, that is great news!

What about actual scientific evidence?

Covid, Copper and Science

From a scientific study titled "Is copper beneficial for COVID-19 patients?"

Cu has the potent capacity to neutralize infectious viruses such as bronchitis virus, poliovirus, human immunodeficiency virus type 1(HIV-1), and other enveloped or nonenveloped single- or double-stranded DNA and RNA viruses . Cu can disrupt the lytic cycle of the Coccolithovirus, EhV86 with the increase in production of ROS . Cu2+ ions can inactivate five enveloped or nonenveloped, single- or double-stranded DNA or RNA viruses. The virucidal effect of this Cu is enhanced by the addition of peroxide as the mixtures of Cu2+ ions and peroxide are more efficient than glutaraldehyde in activating Junin and herpes simplex viruses . Copper exposure to human coronavirus 229E destroyed the viral genomes and irreversibly affected virus morphology, including disintegration of envelope and dispersal of surface spikes . Cupric (II) chloride dihydrate showed the inhibitory effect on the replication of dengue virus, DENV-2 in a cell culture study
